Only go if you have an appointment. I encourage everyone to make an appointment, unless you feel like you're about to die. In which case, you should go to the hospital. Back story: I've always made an appointment when I'm sick. But this time round, I was in pain and decided to do a walk-in. Wrong decision! I arrived at 0750. By then, there were already people in the waiting room and some people standing. The reception only opened at 0802 and not at 0800. We registered one by one at the reception. More patients arrived. There were not enough seats in the waiting room and some had to stand. After 1 hour of waiting, the doctor finally called my name. The entire consult was only about 3 minutes long. (Please note you're only allowed to ask about one illness, even if you have several ailments. They're strict on this.) The diagnosis: Let the problem go away by itself in 1-2 weeks. If it worsens, then go back to see them again. So I wasted 1+ hour of my life for a 3 minutes consult where I emerged no better than when I entered. I left still in pain without any medicine prescription. After such a crappy experience, I still had to go back if the problem worsened! Moral of the story: Unless you're sure the doctor can/will do something for you, there's no need to walk in, no matter how ill you are. Grin and bear it until you get an appointment.
